Niagara Infant Mental Health Training

A two day Infant Mental Health training session was brought to Niagara on March 24 and March 31 to bring awareness to service providers on the effects of toxic stress on the developing infant’s brain and the role of a service provider. Providing an infant a nurturing environment helps to combat the toxic stress that may be happening at home. There were 159 service providers in attendance at this two day training session. Part of the training included training on the ASQ and the ASQ SE which gave service providers additional tools to engage families, address stress in an infant, and to identify social indicators, which may signal a child is at risk of delay.
